The Cerruti Collection, secrets of a wealthy recluse.
Museum signage project for the Rivoli Castle, Contemporary Art Museum,
new center, Villa Cerruti.
The developed design choice uses an essential and elegant stainless steel signage that follows the common thread of the Castle characterizing both museum centers, and keep on a current key the first design made in the 60s by the designer Giugiaro. Otherwise, only for some specific elements, it was preferred to go foward the project in an artistic perspective of Ready-Made, using an existing object that isolated from its original functional context and re-used with a new use defines the Sala information.
The new Rivoli Castle, Contemporary Art Museum center – Cerruti Collection is the result of an ambitious project, which brings back to the national and international community a priceless heritage, with a private collection of the highest quality; thanks to the life of the entrepreneur Francesco Cerruti, one of the most important European collectors of the late 20th and early 21st century.
The Cerruti Collection is unique in the history of Italian private collections for vastness and importance, hardly comparable to others in Europe and the world, with almost 300 sculptural and paintings works ranging from medieval to contemporary and more than 300 furniture and furnishings by famous wooden cabinet makers.
Masterpieces ranging from the works of Sassetta, Bernardo Daddi and Pontormo to those of Renoir, Modigliani, Kandinsky, Klee, Boccioni, Balla and Magritte, to get to Bacon, Burri, Warhol, De Dominicis and Paolini.
